Today I returned to OFS after a week-long family vacation in Cape Cod. Now. As the mother of boys, ages three and one, I’d be lying if I described it as relaxing. Yes, it was really nice eating fresh-as-can-be seafood and building castles on the soft sand of breathtakingly beautiful, uncrowded beaches. But guys. Our sons were drawn to that vast Atlantic Ocean and the seals swimming nearby. Since the idea of sharks circling below those seals didn’t seem to deter them, we naturally had to play defense around the water. My husband and I scrappily transitioned from man-to-man and zone as the boys romped about the edge of forceful waves. And then there was that long pier in Provincetown, with its um, maybe 12-inch high barrier between energetic kids and the abyss below. But all that parental defense paid off. We won. Came home with two breathing, intact and happy children, and awesome family memories. Win and win.
So what in the world does my little vacation recap have to do with our Fall Fabric Giveaway winner? Well, although I was on vacation and “unplugged” from work, OnlineFabricStore had a way of following me around. I came across familiar fabric in virtually every quaint little seaside shop I popped into. Particularly oilcloth. There were colorful oilcloth aprons, bags, table cloths, place mats and more. Including a few of these prints.
And when I asked you all last week to share which OFS fabrics said “fall” to you, this week’s winner said this:
I would never have associated oilcloth with fall. I tended to agree with so many of you who highlighted some of our new HGTV and Waverly fabric. But I thought her oilcloth comment made sense. So congrats to Sonya S. and thanks so much to everyone who took the time to explore our site and comment. And for being so patient with me to approve the comments you left last week while I was away. Stay tuned for the next giveaway in a few days. (You can get updates by entering your email address in the top right hand corner and clicking “subscribe.”)
