I usually only blog once a day but since Pantone released its Color of the Year today and it has gotten mixed reviews, I was curious to hear what you think. It has been revealed that the 2014 Color of the Year is Radiant Orchid.
People seem to be pretty split on this one, many on social media begging for moderation in its use. I might have to agree on the moderation front — but I think when used alongside accenting colors it’s going to be a good one. I know throughout the year OFS will likely add fabrics with this lavender shade. But until those go up, I wanted to point out some of our existing fabrics that do the color justice. That way, if you’re on the fence about the color, you can find a fabric that has both your home’s existing color palette and something Radiant Orchid-like. By using the fabric in something easily changeable like throw pillows or drapes you can dabble in the trend without fully committing. Here are a few examples of fabrics that might work in that regard.
